Home Learning - Week 10
As this is the last week of term, with Operetta’s and shifting back into Dudley there will be no home learning this week. This will get back to normal in term 4.
Room 20 - Plan for Tuesday
Tomorrow is our dress rehearsal and
performance of our Operetta ‘Cinderella’.
We will be leaving at 9am to go down to Shirley Intermediate where we
will stay for the day. The performance
will begin at 1:50pm with Room 20, followed by room 21 then room 22. We will return to school by 3:00pm.
The girls all have dresses to wear but can
bring some nice shoes to wear. If they
have any make up or you have some old make up they could bring that would be
very helpful.
The boys will need one of Dad’s, Grandad’s,
or Uncle’s shirts with a collar please.
We have some ties at school but some more would be very helpful. If the boys could bring jeans or good
trousers to wear on the bottom please.
Thanks for your help

Future Focused Learning
On Wednesday 24 September the teachers will
be shifting the equipment, resource etc back into what was called rooms 20, 21
and 22. Some children may be invited to help though
most will be working on a Technology lesson around making pizza solar ovens,
with relieving teachers. These
classrooms will be called “Dudley” from now on.
From Thursday the 25th of
September the children will need to come to Dudley and enter in the morning
through the middle door, which used to be room 21’s door. This first morning may be hectic as the
children find their way around. We would
ask your patience as we work through this and as we finish the term. In week 1 of term 4 we will hold an informal
opening and blessing of the block which will be the opportunity for you to come
and view the building and meet all 4 of the teachers who work with your
children during the week. Later during
Term 4 we will hold an open session where you will be able to pop in and see
how teaching and learning occurs. This
is likely to be in the middle of the day.
Parent sessions and information evenings
will also be held in term 4 for the parents of children in Team Miro and the
wider school around future focused learning.
Operetta - Tuesday 23 September
As you will know from the children and the
newsletter next week we will be performing our Operettas to you and the other
children of Banks Avenue. This will
happen on Tuesday afternoon. The
performance will begin at 1:45pm in the Shirley Intermediate hall. All family and whānau are very welcome. We look forward to seeing you there. If you wish to take your child home from the
performance you will need to have this recorded on the class roll with the
child’s class teacher.

What is a million? by Riley Griffiths
A million is the birds that fly over our head.
A million is the rockets that fly over the moon.
A million is the teeth that are in our mouth.
A million is the money that you get given.
THAT IS A MILLION.
What is a Million poem by Kieran Thacker
A million is someone writing or someone who is fighting or what ever it is it just could be a quiz.
A fizz from your mouth that's nobody's bis?
A fish or a plate or a dish.
A massive blizzard or possibly a lizard.
Or sometimes scissors that cut up quizzes.
That could be a billion but it is a million.
